THIRD TRAINING DAY OF THE SODOSOST PROJECT

"Optimization of No-Till Seeding Practices in Durum Wheat to Improve the Sustainability of Apulian Cereal Farming"

The SODOSOST project, funded under the PSR Puglia 2014-2020 - SM 16.2 "Support for pilot projects and the development of new products, practices, processes, and technologies" for an amount of €460,700.00, is about to tackle its third and final training day on March 15, 2022, at 4:00 PM.

The event, which will be entirely online via the Zoom platform, represents an unmissable opportunity for all those interested in discovering the economic sustainability of the innovations proposed in the conservation agriculture sector for durum wheat in the Puglia region. Participation is possible upon registration at the following link: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZwoceGvrjorHNAMZM5mxzVGrqJCBHvRjFTB#/registration.

The SODOSOST project, coordinated by the DAFNE Department of the University of Foggia under the guidance of RTS Prof. Zina Flagella, sees the active participation of the partner Aretè, represented by Dr. Nicolò Sansoni. Sansoni will present a detailed economic analysis on the implementation of conservation agriculture practices for durum wheat in Puglia, highlighting the potential added value and benefits resulting from the innovations introduced along the entire production chain.

The project, aimed at disseminating conservation agriculture practices for durum wheat in the Puglia region, aims to improve the economic, environmental sustainability, and food security of agricultural production. Through the use of technical means and innovative farming techniques, the project seeks to optimize the use of sustainable strategies during all production and post-harvest phases.

The project partners constitute an Operational Group of the PEI AGRI, a cooperation model based on the "interactive innovation model" that involves collaboration among various actors to make the best use of complementary types of knowledge, whose main objective is the co-creation and dissemination of solutions and opportunities ready to be implemented in practice.

The Operational Group of the project, composed of reputable partners including the Rural Cooperative Sub-Appenino Dauno a r.l., the Regional Agri-food District (D.A.Re. scrl), the Agricultural Company Gerardo Campanella, Cassandro Unipersonale Srl, the CIA Puglia, Aretè srl, and the University of Foggia, works synergistically to implement innovative and sustainable solutions in the agricultural sector.
